بھلایا، کی جانا میں کون؟
نہ میں مومن وچ مسیتاں
نہ میں وچ کفر دیاں ریتاں
نہ میں پاکاں وچ پلّیساں
نہ میں موسیٰ، نہ فرعون

I am not a devout believer in a mosque
بھلایا، کی جانا میں کون؟

نہ میں وچ پلیتـی پاکی
نہ میں وچ شادی غمناکی
نہ میں آبی، نہ میں خاکی
نہ میں آتش، نہ میں پون
Na main vich paleeti paaki
Na vich shaadi na ghamnaaki
Na main aabi na main khaki
Na main aatish na main paun
Neither clean, nor a filthy mire
In happiness nor in sorrow, am I
Neither fire, nor from air, is my birth
I am neither pure nor corrupt

نا میں اندر وید کتاباں
نا وچ بانگاں،نا شراباں
نا وچ رنداں مست خراباں
نا وچ جاگن، نا وچ سون

نہ میں بھیت مذہب دا پایا
نہ میں آدم حوّا جايا
نہ کوئی آپے ماں نے بایا
نہ میں بیٹھن نہ میں بھاون
Na vich baitthan na vich bhaun
Secrets of religion, I have not known
Not in stillness, nor on the move
I am a stranger to the secret of religion
Nor am I the offspring of Adam and Eve
Nor have I borne a name (I have not given myself a name)
Neither in rest, nor in movement
بھلایا، کی جانا میں کون؟
Bulleya! How do I know who I am?
اوّل آخر آپ نوں جانا
نہ کوئی دوجا ہور پچھانا
میں نوں ہور نہ کوئی سیانا
بلھیا! اوہ کون ہے، خُدا ہے کون؟
Bulla! Ooh khadda hai kaun
I am the first, I am the last
Bulleh! Do I stand alone?
From beginning to end, I only know myself
